Children's Hospital Central California is a not-for-profit, state-of-the-art children’s hospital on a 50-acre campus with a medical staff of more than 500 physicians. In California, we treat more inpatient cases than any pediatric hospital north of San Diego, making us the second largest children’s hospital in the state. Our 348-bed facility is one of the 10 largest hospitals of its type in the nation. The mission of Children’s Hospital’s to provide high-quality comprehensive healthcare services to children, regardless of their ability to pay, and to continuously improve the health and wellbeing of children. Children’s Hospital Central California Facts: Over 67,000 Emergency Department visits a year. Over 13,000 Inpatient & 11,000 Outpatient surgeries annually. The Craycroft Oncology (Cancer) Unit & Outpatient Center is a full member of the nationally-recognized Children’s Oncology Group (COG) and is on the leading edge of advancements for children with cancer and blood disorders. On average 30-40 children receive chemotherapy treatment each day to fight cancer. 220,000 outpatient specialty clinic visits and serves as the Central Valley’s pediatric regional referral center serving over 1 million children. Children’s Hospital’s Transport Team, transports over 1,000 infants to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit every year. Our NICU boasts the highest survival rate of infants that weight less than 2 pounds. In 1970 those infants had a 5% chance of surviving . . . today, 95% survive. Every child deserves the hope and healing of children’s hospitals. With the help of Children's Hospital Central California, children of all ages and backgrounds can receive treatment for every imaginable disease and injury—from asthma and broken bones to cancer and heart defects. Children’s hospitals are also on the front lines of research, education and outreach programs that keep millions of kids out of the hospital each year. The funds raised from the Credit Union for Kids Wine Auction help support our Child Life Department, which is vital to the Hospital as we treat the child's heart as well as the patient’s condition. This program in not supported through insurance dollars, but is so vital to our Hospital, as it is where “kids get to be kids.” These funds help purchase items that encourage, comfort and put smiles on our patients’ faces. Because of your heart for the Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, we are able to purchase items for our playrooms and classrooms that occupy minds and spirits while bodies are able heal.
